UNDER OUR NOSES

Some things are so obvious … that no one sees them.

OTHERWISE OCCUPIED

Sadly an alarm bell is of little use to the hard of hearing.

AM I AFRAID OR NOT?

AM I AFRAID OR NOT?

Boil it, boil it down

There is only love or fear

You open or close

ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL

Be aware or beware.

ENVY

ENVY

This afternoon
I came across these fine words
Of Gary Shneider’s

“Your thoughts do not care about you
They only want to perpetuate themselves”

Envy arose as I read them
But I did not allow it
To perpetuate itself

THE UNDERLYING

THE UNDERLYING

How do you feel? Which?
Emotional? Physical?
No. How’s it you feel?

THE MISDIRECTION

THE MISDIRECTION

There is what we knew
And there is what we were taught
They are not the same

MULTIPLE PERSONÆ

MULTIPLE PERSONÆ

Some talk freely
Others whisper in your ear
Some are sound asleep
Others snore

THE INNER VOICE

Stop hogging the helm.

RICE AND BARLEY

RICE AND BARLEY

Two a misapprehension
There is only ever one
And yet are also two
No apprehension too

Like rice and barley
Found mixed up together
Letting go in the moment
Holding without grasping

This is based on an old Zen story, but sadly even though I recall the story and its moral I cannot relocate it. Anyone?
