PRUNING

Which is more important, to accomplish a task successfully, or to realise it is inessential before you start?

To quote Patrul Rinpoche:

“Remember the example of the old cow: She’s content to sleep in a barn. You have to eat, sleep and shit – that’s the unavoidable – anything beyond that is none of your business. Do what you have to do and keep yourself to yourself.

LOVE AND COMPASSION

Love is not desire.
Compassion is not pity.

OATH

OATH

I swear to tell the truth
The whole truth and nothing
But those lies I believe
I can get away with

LETTING GO

Letting go is hard enough, but letting go of letting go …

STEP ONE

We will never overcome a challenge we refuse to admit. When you face up to a thing you have taken the first step in overcoming it.

KEEPING UP APPEARANCES

Are you really doing you best? Or merely pretending.

TRUTH

The truth is always a work in progress; laziness in this respect is of course less than helpful.

LOVE AND INNOCENCE

“Innocence is the clarity with which the self shows forth the self. Love is the respect we feel for innocence.”
